Apartment, Espinho
November 2005
Reeta and Dinís Brazão
Two cultures, two distinct spatial perceptions.
The intervention contemplates the redefinition of a T3 Duplex apartment for a young couple; him, a Portuguese software designer and her, a Finnish photographer and translator.
The developed project responds to very specific requirements of the clients and is reflected on the designed space. The living room and the kitchen are joined through a bench that is also used as a dining table, scaled according to Scandinavian standards.
Two rooms are transformed into a single multifunctional space, which houses both the office and the small photo studio. A bathroom becomes a photo lab. The disqualified attic turns into a large lounge with access to an outdoor terrace facing the Atlantic.
